Professor Black's reputation speaks for itself, and I am honoured to have met and to know her.
I first heard of Sue's work while I was studying computational physics at University College London, where she held a Professorship.
I struggled at university, largely due to social mobility issues, and Prof Black was one of the few academics who really understood such issues, having been through so much more herself. Moreover, she has a wealth of experience in helping people of all walks of life.
